P90X is a fitness program developed by Tony Horton and Beachbody that is created for people who want to get in shape quickly.
The length of the program is 90 days (hence the name). It is a natural progression from another popular home workout program called Power 90 which was also developed by Tony Horton and Beachbody.
It utilizes a variety of different training techniques including high intensity circuit training, progressive overload and periodization. The program consists of 12 different workouts that combined in 3 different phases.
The core features of P90X are: wide variety of workouts that you can do at home in front of your TV right in the living room (you only need a small space about 4 x 4), very detailed and yet flexible meal plan that comes with the program and specifies exactly how much you need to eat along with all of the recipes, and a variety of optional nutritional supplements that you can purchase separately (not required for the program) that can help you optimize the results.
P90X is wildly popular among the people who struggled to lose weight (burn fat) and proven to be very effective mostly due to the well thought nutrition plan that comes with it and the periodization model that incorporate recovery weeks (low intensity workouts) after every 3-4 weeks of hard work (high intensity circuit training).
